Prospects and opportunities for cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey in the field of strategic investments and privatization were discussed

On March 4 of this year, the Director of the State Assets Agency held negotiations with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Uzbekistan , Mr. Ufuk Ulutaş .

During the meeting, the parties emphasized that Uzbek-Turkish relations are consistently developing in the spirit of high-level trust and strategic partnership , noting that the systemic reforms implemented in recent years have raised investment and trade and economic relations between the two countries to a completely new level.

At the same time, specific proposals were put forward to further expand the participation of Turkish business circles in privatization processes in Uzbekistan . In particular, the Turkish side supported the establishment of a mechanism for targeted delivery of investment proposals for state assets prepared with the practical support of the Embassy to leading Turkish holdings, industry associations and large industrial groups , as well as the organization of a large-scale investment "Roadshow" event in Ankara or Istanbul .

The parties also discussed the implementation of joint projects and the wide involvement of Turkish investors in privatization processes in Uzbekistan within the framework of this year's Tashkent International Investment Forum . The forum is planned to include presentations of state assets attractive for investment, sectoral panel sessions, as well as meetings in B2G and B2B formats.

The meeting was recognized as an important step towards further developing bilateral economic cooperation and bringing the mutually beneficial partnership to a new level through specific investment projects.
